I read the article, "World Without Walls: Learning Well With Others" by blogger Will Richardson. The article explains that in this day and age, students should not be confined to learning from only textbooks. Since what students are learning is constantly changing, the way we learn should evolve with us. Although the article was written for teachers, it is useful for students as well. For example, he tells his readers that "These tools are allowing us not only to mine the wisdom and experiences of the more than one billion people now online but also to connect with them to further our understanding of the global experience and do good work together." I was surprised to learn that even elementary and middle schooners are utilizing technology such as Skype and blogs. I think it is great that the way our generation learns has transformed so much. I think the idea of subscribing to blogs that interest us is a good way to make this class personal. There are so many different topics to learn, but if we focus in on a few, such as editing techniques, which I am interested in, then it will seem less overwhelming.
