Op-Ed colonist David Brooks wrote about why women are becoming more successful than men in school and in their careers. He explained how women are breaking free of standards society has set, while men are still shackled to the 'rules' of masculinity. Brooks said that men are generally less flexible and therefore are not able to adapt to new situations as easily as women. The article was very broad and had many stereotypes. Although there were statistics to support his claim's Brooks did not attribute these numbers, making them meaningless. The premise of the column was interesting, the lack of specific examples and random statistics take away the article.
